Kai Peng Mining (KPM)

Congolese copper-cobalt company near Likasi that mines semi-industrially and is also listed as a processing entity. ITIE-RDC's 2025 artisanal report found it at the Miringi and Swambo sites in Kambove sector, working with fully mechanised extraction while tolerating at least eight mining cooperatives at Miringi and five at Swambo, and places both sites on PE 463, which its text gives to Gécamines and its site fiches to KPM; the mining cadastre lists PE 463 under Boss Mining. The report's cobalt figure for it is internally inconsistent: 10 tonnes in 2022 and 2,701 tonnes in 2023 in its text, 2,071 tonnes for 2023 in its Table 18. The mining cadastre lists KAI PENG MINING SARL as holder of PEPM 8210, active and under renewal, and Gécamines' 2025 accounts record USD 10.8 million in royalties from it. USGS's 2022 yearbook lists Kai Peng Mining as the 100% owner of a plant at Likasi.
