Cobalt dataset

Download the sites, actors, relationships and sources behind the sector map.

122 sites and actors · 117 relationships · 88 sources

SQLite can be queried directly in a database browser. JSON contains the complete structured dataset. The CSV tables can be joined using entity and source IDs.

Where evidence is still thin

Some sites and connections rest on a single document. Registry entries establish that a site was listed; they do not establish current activity, cobalt output or a buyer.

Source counts use unique document URLs, not independent publishers. Multiple sources do not necessarily corroborate the same claim. Read the evidence attached to each relationship.

Use the data with its evidence

Entity IDs join sites and actors to relationship endpoints. Source IDs join each description and relationship to its evidence. Keep the dates and status fields when reusing the data: an ownership, programme or financing connection is not proof of physical cobalt supply.

This dataset covers the sites and actors documented in the hub. It is not a complete census of cobalt mining or trade. An absent connection means the hub has not documented it. Source documents retain their original rights; links and evidence summaries are provided for attribution.
