Launched in the DRC on 20 November 2024 as a continuation of COTECCO, it set out to remediate about 6,000 children identified through the Child Labour Monitoring and Remediation System at 14 pilot artisanal sites, to help CISTEMA develop a referral protocol and to train mining and labour inspectors in the cobalt provinces, working with UNICEF, IMPACT and the PABEA-Cobalt initiative. ILO’s project page gives the project’s duration as 1 December 2021 to 27 March 2025, about four months after the DRC launch.
