The DRC's inter-ministerial commission on child labour at artisanal mining sites, set up under the 2017–2030 sectoral strategy against child labour in artisanal mining. Since that strategy's 2024 revision it coordinates the Child Labour Monitoring and Remediation System (CLMRS), which ILO reports was piloted at 14 sites in Lualaba and Haut-Katanga and identified 6,242 children; CISTEMA and ILO trained the local technicians who run it, and the US Department of Labor reports that ILO handed ownership of the system to CISTEMA in June of its 2024 reporting year. ILO's GALAB project set out to help it develop a referral protocol for children found at artisanal sites. The instrument that created it has not been found, and ILO and the US Department of Labor give its name in different forms.
