Who we are · Members & partners

A supply-chain-wide alliance.

Membership is pre-competitive: organisations that would never share a boardroom share the cost and the work of a fairer cobalt sector. Around twenty companies and NGOs are in the Alliance today.

The Alliance

Companies and organisations in the FCA.

From carmakers and battery makers to refiners, technology firms, financiers and child-rights NGOs.

Membership

Three tiers, scaled to size and cobalt dependency.

Annual contributions are tiered so that participation is open to a start-up and meaningful for a major manufacturer.

Small

USD 15,000 – 50,000 / yr

Start-ups, SMEs, boutique consultancies and think tanks.

Medium

USD 50,000 – 100,000 / yr

Large companies with small cobalt volumes, associations, battery-storage and finance.

Large

USD 100,000+ / yr

Refiners, large-scale miners, battery manufacturers and OEMs.

What members commit to

Four commitments.

  • Recognise the legitimacy of cobalt from responsible artisanal operations as a contributor to local development.
  • Contribute resources to the FCA's integrated programme, scaled to cobalt dependency.
  • Designate a contact person to coordinate with the FCA.
  • Promote the goals of the FCA within their industry networks.
